Miracles in the Book of Acts
The Book of Acts, also known as the Acts of the Apostles, is the fifth book in the New Testament of the Bible and provides a bridge between the four Gospels and the Epistles. The author of Acts is Luke, the physician and companion of the Apostle Paul. While it's not known exactly when Acts was written, scholars suggest it was composed around AD 63-70. The Ascension and Pentecost Acts 1:1-2:47: Luke begins by recording Jesus's ascension into heaven Acts 1:9 and the day of Pentecost, where the Holy Spirit descends upon the 120 gathered in the upper room. He came like a mighty rushing wind, the Amplified describes it as a “violent tempest blast”. Flames like fire, settled on each of them and they began to speak in other tongues, Acts 2:4. Acts 7:54-60, persecution leading to the dispersion of the believers, and the conversion of Saul later Paul on the road to Damascus Acts 9:3-6. Paul's Missionary Journeys Acts 13:1-21:16: Luke recounts the three missionary journeys of Paul, bringing the Gospel to Asia Minor and Europe, despite numerous hardships and opposition Acts 13:2, Acts 16:6-10, Acts 18:23. Paul's Arrest and Trials Acts 21:17-26:32: Paul's visit to Jerusalem leads to his arrest, and he defends himself before the Sanhedrin, Felix, Festus, and King Agrippa Acts 24:10, Acts 26:1. Paul's Journey to Rome Acts 27:1-28:31: The book concludes with Paul's perilous journey to Rome as a prisoner, including a shipwreck on the island of Malta Acts 27:41-44. In Rome, while under house arrest, Paul continues to preach the Gospel Acts 28:30-31. The Book of Acts ends somewhat abruptly, leaving Paul's ultimate fate uncertain within the text itself. However, church tradition maintains that he was eventually martyred in Rome.

Acts 2:2 When suddenly there came a sound from heaven like the rushing of a violent tempest blast, and it filled the whole house in which they were sitting.” Vs3 “And there appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were separated and distributed and which settled on each one of them.” Vs4 “And they were all filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words].” Vs5 “Now there were then residing in Jerusalem Jews, devout and God-fearing men from every country under heaven.” Vs6 “And when this sound was heard, the multitude came together and they were astonished and bewildered, because each one heard them [the apostles] speaking in his own [particular] dialect.” Vs7 “And they were beside themselves with amazement, saying, Are not all these who are talking Galileans?” Vs12 “And all were beside themselves with amazement and were puzzled and bewildered, saying one to another, What can this mean?” Vs13 “But others made a joke of it and derisively said, They are simply drunk and full of sweet [intoxicating] wine.” Vs14 “But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and addressed them: Men of Judea and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be explained to you; listen closely and pay attention to what I have to say.” Vs15 “These people are not drunk, as you assume, since it is [only] the third hour of the day (9:00 a.m.); “ Vs16 “but this is [the beginning of] what was spoken of through the prophet Joel:” Read the full chapter click here
01. The Coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost Acts 2:1-4 The apostles receive the Holy Spirit and start speaking in different languages, understood by everyone. 02. Healing of a Lame Beggar Acts 3:1-10 Peter and John encounter a man who had been lame from birth at the temple gate called Beautiful. They said "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” and through the power of Jesus' name, they heal him, allowing him to walk for the first time, causing great amazement and praise among the people. 03. The Death of Ananias and Sapphira Acts 5:1-11 Ananias and Sapphira sell a piece of property but withhold part of the proceeds while pretending to give the full amount, resulting in their sudden deaths as a consequence of lying to the Holy Spirit, which serves as a stern warning against deceit and hypocrisy within the early Christian community. 04. Many Miraculous Signs & Wonders Acts 5:12-16 The apostles continue to perform numerous miraculous signs and wonders among the people, including healing the sick and those tormented by impure spirits, leading to an increasing number of believers being added to the community of the Lord. The power of God manifesting through these extraordinary acts further establishes the authority and credibility of the apostles' ministry. 05. Angelic Prison Break Acts 5:17-20 The apostles find themselves imprisoned, but an angel of the Lord opens the prison doors during the night, instructing them to continue preaching in the temple, leading to their miraculous escape and subsequent defiance of the religious authorities. 06. Stephen's Miraculous Face Acts 6:8-15 Stephen, filled with the Holy Spirit, displays a radiant face like that of an angel while being falsely accused by certain members of the synagogue, signifying the divine presence and favor upon him as he boldly defends his faith. 07. Philip's Miracles in Samaria Acts 8:4-8 Philip, after preaching the gospel in Samaria, performs miracles, including casting out unclean spirits and healing the paralyzed and the lame, resulting in great joy and faith among the Samaritan crowds. 08. Simon the Sorcerer's Conversion Acts 8:9-25 Simon, a sorcerer in Samaria, witnesses the miracles and signs performed by Philip, believes, and is baptized, abandoning his sorcery and following Philip as he sees the power of the Holy Spirit at work. 09. The Conversion of Saul Acts 9:1-19 Saul who becomes Paul is blinded on the road to Damascus and hears Jesus speak to him, blinding by a bright light and subsequent restoration of sight after three days, through the prayers of Ananias and baptised in the Holy Spirit. 10. Peter Heals Aeneas Acts Acts 9:32-43 Peter visits Lydda and finds a paralyzed man named Aeneas,who had been bedridden for eight years. He heals in the name of Jesus Christ, enabling Aeneas to rise from his bed and walk, leading to the conversion of many in the region. 11. The Raising of Tabitha Acts 9:36-43 In Joppa, the disciple Tabitha (also known as Dorcas) falls ill and dies, but Peter arrives and, in a powerful display of faith, raises her from the dead, causing great rejoicing and the strengthening of believers in the area. 12. Cornelius' Vision Acts 10:1-6 Cornelius, a Roman centurion, has a vision in which an angel instructs him to send for Peter, who is in Joppa, marking the beginning of the significant event that leads to the inclusion of Gentiles in the early Christian community and the realization that the Gospel is for all people, regardless of their background. 13. Peter's Vision and the Conversion of Cornelius Acts 10:1-48 Through the vision that Peter receives from God, he is instructed to go with Cornelius' men and preach to Cornelius, a devout Gentile. Through this experience, God shows him that the Gentiles are also to be included in the message of salvation, and that God shows no partiality. Cornelius and his whole household receive salvation.
14. Peter's Angelic Jailbreak Acts 12:5-17 While Peter is imprisoned by King Herod, an angel of the Lord appears, releasing him from his chains and guiding him safely out of the prison, demonstrating the power of God over earthly authorities and highlighting the faithfulness of God in protecting His messengers. 15. Death of Herod Agrippa Acts 12:20-23 Herod Agrippa is struck down by an angel of the Lord and dies because he did not give glory to God, accepting the people's worship as if he were a god. 16. Elymas the Sorcerer is Blinded: Acts 13:4-12 Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, confronts Elymas the sorcerer, and with the power of God, blinds him temporarily as a punishment for opposing the truth and attempting to turn the proconsul away from the faith. 17. Paul and Barnabas at Lystra Acts 14:8-10 In Lystra, Paul heals a man who had been lame from birth, and the man, leaping up and walking, is miraculously restored by the power of God, prompting the astonished crowd to attribute divine status to Paul and Barnabas, which the apostles promptly reject, redirecting their attention to the true God who works miracles through His servants. 18. Paul Casts Out a Spirit of Divination: Acts 16:16-18 Paul, annoyed by a slave girl possessed by a spirit of divination, commands the spirit to come out of her in the name of Jesus Christ, freeing her from the power of that spirit. 19.Paul and Silas freed from prison by the power of God. Acts 16:25-34 While imprisoned, Paul and Silas sing hymns and pray, causing an earthquake that opens the prison doors and sets the prisoners free. 20. Unusual and extraordinary miracles by Paul at Ephesus: Acts 19:11-20 “God did unusual and extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that handkerchiefs or towels or aprons which had touched his skin were carried away and put upon the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them.” 21. Paul Revives Eutychus Acts 20:7-12 Paul miraculously raised Eutychus from the dead after he fell out of a window and died during a gathering in Troas. 22. Paul's Miraculous Escape from a Plot to Kill Him Acts 23:12-35 A group of more than forty Jews conspire to kill Paul, but his nephew overhears the plot and reports it to Paul, who is then protected by Roman soldiers and safely transported to Caesarea. 23. Paul's Survival from a Shipwreck Acts 27:21-44 While being taken as a prisoner to Rome, Paul and his companions encounter a severe storm and shipwreck. However, all the people on board survive as Paul had received a message from an angel, assuring their safety. 24. Paul Heals on Malta Acts 28:7-10 Paul heals the father of Publius, who was sick with fever and dysentery, along with many others on the island of Malta. 25. Paul Survives a Snakebite Acts 28:1-6 Paul, while gathering firewood on the island of Malta, is bitten by a venomous snake, but he shakes it off and suffers no harm, astonishing the people who witnessed the event. 26. Paul Heals Many on the Island of Malta: Acts 28:7-10 Paul continues to heal and minister to the people on the island of Malta, including the father of Publius and others who were ill, demonstrating the power of God through miraculous healings.
